Meet the Artist
Ian began his photography journey capturing the beauty of nature during hikes, but his true passion emerged with toy photography. By animating minifigures and action figures within real-world settings and utilizing practical effects such as fireworks and sparklers, he crafts images that convey a vibrant sense of life.
In addition to his personal creative work, Ian takes great satisfaction in educating others. For the past eighteen months, he has served as an instructor at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre and The Joel Fund, guiding students in uncovering the wonders of photography. Witnessing his students grow in skill and express their unique visions stands out as one of the most fulfilling aspects of his career.
Whether capturing the an exotic car, a professional portrait, or a dynamic toy battle scene filled with explosive effect, Ian continuously seeks innovative storytelling approaches through his photography.
